CheerAbilities

Our CheerAbilities program is an adaptive team for athletes with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, cognitive or sensory challenges.

Key Features

  • Inclusive Environment - Every athlete gets a role and opportunity to shine

  • Adapted skills - Stunting, tumbling, and motions are adjusted for safety and success.

  • Unified Teams - May include both athletes with disabilities and trained partners.

  • Performance-based judging - Emphasizes execution, creativity, and team spirit over difficulty.

Our Cheerabilities team competes both locally and out of state competitions.

CheerAbilities builds confidence and independence, encourages social connections and teamwork, and provides a competitive performance outlet for athletes of all abilities.

Prep Level Cheer

Prep Level Cheer is the perfect bridge between exhibition and elite competitive cheer. This program is designed for athletes who are ready for a more structured team experience while continuing to build confidence and develop strong fundamentals.

Athletes train in stunting, tumbling, jumps, motions, and dance, with a focus on proper technique, strength development, teamwork, and performance quality. Routines are designed to challenge athletes while highlighting their strengths and encouraging growth in new skills.

Prep teams compete at select local and regional events, providing valuable competition experience without the full travel and time commitment of elite teams. It’s the perfect balance of fun, development, and competitive excitement.

Elite Lite Cheer

The Elite Lite Program at Thunder is designed for athletes who are ready for the excitement and challenge of elite level cheer, while maintaining a more balanced travel schedule for their families.

Athletes on Elite Lite teams compete in the elite tier and train with the same high standards, skill expectations, and commitment to strong technique that Thunder is known for. These teams focus on building advanced stunting, tumbling, jumps, and performance quality in a competitive environment that encourages athletes to grow and push their abilities.

What makes the Elite Lite program unique is the competition schedule. Instead of traveling long distances or flying to events, Elite Lite teams primarily attend competitions that are within driving distance.

This allows athletes to experience the thrill of elite level competition, perform against strong programs, and build confidence on the floor without the time and financial commitment that comes with major travel events.

Elite Level Cheer

Elite Level Cheer is the highest and most competitive level of All-Star cheerleading. This program is designed for dedicated athletes who are ready to train at an advanced level and commit to the demands of high-level competition.

Athletes focus on advanced stunting, elite tumbling, intricate choreography, and strong performance quality. Practices are structured and detail-oriented, building strength, endurance, precision, and teamwork.

Elite teams practice multiple days per week and compete at several regional and national events throughout the season, which may include travel. This level is ideal for athletes who are passionate about the sport and thrive in a competitive environment.

Elite cheer develops discipline, resilience, leadership, and confidence while giving athletes the opportunity to perform on some of the sport’s biggest stages.

Elite CIF Compliant

VOLTAGE is the perfect off-season team for high school athletes who want to maintain and improve their skills without impacting CIF commitments. Athletes are rostered after USA Nationals in February and compete from March through May, staying competition-ready while continuing to grow.

The team focuses on strength, technique, and elite-level performance to help athletes stay sharp and prepared for their next school season.

VOLTAGE is ideal for athletes who want to keep competing, push their limits, and continue developing at a high level during the off-season.
